ABOUT AUTUMN

Autumn English is an award-winning filmmaker, story artist, and animator currently based in the Chicagoland area. She holds a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in Animation from DePaul University.

During her time at DePaul, Autumn dedicated her time to collaborating and learning from experienced artists and industry professionals. In her junior year, she worked with award-winning filmmaker and director Meghann Artes on her film Stronghold. She also interned at Bento Box Entertainment’s A Studio Digital, a growing online platform that publishes animated shorts made by upcoming creators. In her senior year, she was selected from a pool of applicants to enroll in a DePaul University class co-taught by Nickelodeon Animation directors. Through this unique program, she learned the storyboarding pipeline of SpongeBob SquarePants and was challenged to board an assigned scene in the show’s style.

More recently, Autumn has worked as a freelance artist for several independent media companies, including Easy Does It Records, Chatterbox: Language Learning, Which Witch Productions, and Reparations Media / Juneteenth Productions. She is also a Programming Board Member for the New Generation Filmmakers Forum, a film festival in Chicago. Perfect Casting is Autumn’s senior capstone film and most recent animated project. Much like Autumn’s own journey of overcoming insecurity, the film focuses on themes of identity and finding a community among other creatives. Currently in its festival run, it has been proud to screen around the world. One of its recent screenings included the Ottawa International Animation Festival's Salon des Refuses (2024).

We're gonna be real... Autumn is almost always doing something creative, especially when it's just for fun! But she also loves taking long walks, playing a new video game, and hanging out with her two wiener dogs (who are her biggest helpers).
